Absolutely beautiful textile factory built around 1903. It's been abandoned for about 15 years. The cellars are completely flooded with water and the roof is starting to cave in. Too bad, they don't build them like this anymore. #urbex #myphoto #photography #djimavic #originalcontent

We had some heavy snowfall last week, with proper sub-zero temperatures. It did not last even a full week, and right now, it is sunny and 8°C outside, with all the snow long gone. But at least for a couple of days, the grey-brown December misery was replaced by scenery that looked rather pretty.I used the opportunity to go check out ruins of this long-abandoned farm, which was destroyed by a flood some twenty years ago. It is an isolated place on a peninsula formed by the joining of two rivers. In any other weather conditions, I would consider trip to this place a waste of time, but with the weather as it was, I enjoyed the hike immensely.#urbex #myphoto #photography #exploration #originalcontent

The old weir in Obříství (name either from "Obří," which is "huge" in English, or from "Obřízka," which is "circumcision" - I dont know for sure, but lets say the village is not very big...) was built between 1908-1912 and is a significant technical monument of water engineering from the early 20th century. It was designed by architect Pavel Janák. The weir consists of three reinforced concrete pillars, with a steel bridge structure between the embankment and the central pillar. Until 1974, it regulated the water level in the Elbe to ensure navigation, after which its function was taken over by a more modern one built approximately 400 meters downstream.#urbex #myphoto #photography #exploration #originalcontent

Ruins of Zbořený Kostelec castle above the right bank of the Sázava River near Týnec nad Sázavou in Bohemia. The castle was probably founded around 1275 by King Wenceslas II. It had several owners during the 14th and first half of the 15th century. The last one was Zdeněk Konopišťský of Šternberk, the founder of Jednota Zelenohorská, who led Catholic revolt against the Utraquist Bohemian king, George of Poděbrady. This eventually started the war between the Czech and Hungarian kingdoms, at the beginning of which, in 1467, Zbořený Kostelec was conquered and razed by the King's army. #exploration #myphoto #abandoned #history #originalcontent

Abandoned customs building at the Ollague border crossing between Chile and Bolivia. Nearby volcano certainly makes the landscape interesting. I am becoming increasingly addicted to the Adobe noise reduction tool. To capture this scene with a wide lens and minimize noise, I would need to keep the ISO number low. To achieve that, I would have to carry a large tripod, get comfortable with the distorted perspective from using a compact one, or use some makeshift support like a piece of garbage. No thanks. I wonder what will be possible to do a couple of years from now. Last spring, I discovered an abandoned factory that used to produce electrical insulators. This summer, I finally made my way there to explore the place. Lots of stuff there I haven´t seen before... By the way, as there is no option to upload a gallery, I've been using a blog post for that purpose. While it's fine in some cases, the option to upload a bunch of pictures as a gallery would be more preferable in others.
