@nchia “There will be no curiosity, no enjoyment of the process of life. All competing pleasures will be destroyed. But always— do not forget this, Winston— always there will be the intoxication of power, constantly increasing and constantly growing subtler. Always, at every moment, there will be the thrill of victory, the sensation of trampling on an enemy who is helpless. If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face— forever.“

@LoveAlmonds Still call them programmes here in the UK, I do, at least! I’m not far past 30, so not some old geezer. Programme, programme of events, a programme is on at a specific time and place. Much like computer programme, enacting a specific stated set of insurrections? I like your thinking though. As much joy and information as we get through our media sources, has it ever been as anything but a propaganda machine? A way to make sure we are all following the programmed instructions.

@LoveAlmonds I like looking into the roots of words. It’s important to know what is implied when they are used.If you’re interested:https://www.etymonline.com/word/programmehttps://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edict
