@stux those things are normal, but we have unfortunately delved into a world where the right has gone so far right that anything normal seems far left.I agree we need to get back to a level of online discourse that treats people respectfully. Thanks for all the admins who run instances that make sure that happens!

@stux my kids aren’t old enough, but other’s I’ve seen, their kids don’t even want to get their license till they’re over 18. So no point in a car… I do however hope that’s not the case with my oldest… she’s doing theater stuff 6 days a week, and we have to drive her everywhere.

@stux @BintyMcFrazzles here in California, to get your license at 16, you have to take a classroom driving school class, to get your permit, which requires a written test. then have something like 15 hours with a certified driving instructor before you can take the behind the wheel test.

@stux @sysop408 @BintyMcFrazzles we go that young because we are more spread out and have terrible public transportation in most the US. Historically kids got to drive at 16 to help alleviate the parents as they got busier. In more rural states, you can get a license younger to help with family farm responsibilities.

@stux wow… should also note that Heineken owns Lagunitas… the 5th largest craft brewer in the US. I might need to take a break from Lagunitas
