@stux Of course. But you can't always rely on human altruism or heroism. In the end it's about politicians regulating business, and civil society holding politicians accountable. If that feedback is broken - no amount of particular good deeds of particular businesspeople will save the situation.

You won't be executed in Izrael for being Arab.You can be executed in occupied Donetsk for being Ukrainian and expressing your identity. You won't be executed in Kyiv for being russian.

@Hopfgeist @DrGeraintLLanfrancheta The problem with this logic is that we are at war not with individual russians making choices. We're at war with idea of imperial russia. And the problem with russia is that it can't be non-imperial. The word "russia" already contains claim to ancient Rus, that is Ukraine now.

@Hopfgeist @DrGeraintLLanfrancheta Nazi germany after defeat shrinked to normal european state. British empire shrinked to UK. Russia doesn't have a "core", a normal state it can return to. It's core is... Kyiv, the "mother of russian cities" as they say. Russia as a state doesn't have any sense to exist without imperial idea. Unless they manage to reinvent their national identity from scratch.

@Hopfgeist @DrGeraintLLanfrancheta In the 90's Lithuanians, Latvians, Ichkerians, Qirimli tried to tell westerners that russia is a problem. No one listened to them. We, Ukrainians didn't listen too. We believed in this fairytale that history is ended, and we are democratic counties now, we can just be friends. Time has proven us wrong.

We don't hate russians as individuals that made a choice to kill us. We hate russia as idea, and individual maniacs that murder and torture our people - are just nameless orcs of this collective Sauron. This evil existed centuries before putin and will exist after him. Until we put an end to it.
