       @lauren it's one of the downsides to handing out tax breaks to companies to entice them to build offices in your city, usually there's a promise of X number of employees who will be in said office to stimulate local business/tax revenue. That's part of the reason otherwise fully remote positions are being called back to be hybrid at some companies, they'll owe back taxes if they don't hit those marks.

       @lauren it seems inevitable that consolidation of streaming options will continue until 5-10 years from now it's basically back to how cable was.The one caveat: regional sports networks are imploding right now, which could do more to shake up the cable model than anything. Teams/leagues regaining control of their rights might help cut down on non-sports people paying for sports content as they shunt fans to streaming options like NBA TV app.

       @lauren lived in Texas all my life, wondered aloud a thousand times when the voters who voted for the GOP would connect the dots between being draconian to immigrants and us always being behind on housing construction. None of the voters seem to want to be a roofer in July though, funny that.
