       @boilingsteam is it really comparable? E-mail is a dumpsterfire because they went with a reputation approach which ultimately punishes smaller servers.

       @boilingsteam Currently this is a manual process of adding blacklist entries. As long as they don't fork the Mastodon or put some auto-blacklisting in place, i don't see that happening.They would most likely loose a lot of users if that would happen.

       @freemo it's a shame what happened to your community. But i can also see the reasons for Eugens decision. The joinmastodon page should only list servers which are well suited for new users. If the instance is blocked by many other servers, the user is going to have a bad time.

       @boilingsteam The word "banned" in this context is about as legally binding as the statement "you should not swim after eating".We take data protection very seriously ... unless we could therefore not use US services.
