       @stux Can I also add that the most popular movie genre (in the USA at least) in the 50s/60s we’re westerns. The plot of nearly every western was: yada yada yada, and then people shoot at each other. In the 80s, the A-Team was a top 5 TV show for a couple years. The final 5-10 minutes ALWAYS included a frenzy of bullets (and often explosions) that would put Wolfenstein to shame. Gun supporters have never really opposed depictions of gun violence. They just dislike games/music.

       @malwaretech I might be the only one, but I think this is better than the alternative. Imagine a system that initializes you into a feed that is mostly jokes and moderate news, but sprinkles in a few far right/left commentators and gradually increases your radical-right impressions as you seem conditioned for it. It’s much better when the front door just says “Nazi Bar”.

       @clive I grew up in the 90s in the sticks. The weirdest dynamic I experienced was “mudding culture”. Here’s a summary for those who don’t know it. 1) Buy a bigger truck or lift kit. 2) Notice some backwoods area that mucks up when it rains.3) Drive in it. 4) Did you get stuck? No, then find deeper mud and return to step 2. Yes, return to step 1.
