       @encthenet @coleens_ The functionality you want is fine, it just does not belong in TCP. You can get effective text-based service selection and use thereafter of a session token via (for example) Server Name Indication in TLS.So much of the Internet would simply break if the TCP port numbers stopped behaving they way that they do. They are abused as both a means of "randomly" distributing traffic (e.g. ECMP) and as a means of consistently directing traffic (e.g. also ECMP).
