@stux You can also use Firefox's containers add-on to isolate your browsing activity: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/containers

@derek I don't consider having all the information to make my own opinion on this. From what I can tell, RMS said some pretty stupid things in the past and now he's a target of the "cancel culture".To me, neither of the "sides" is actually contributing to technology and computer science in itself. On the contrary, it's a loss. I would suggest shaking hands and move on?P.S: I like how you use exactly the same tactics at the end of your video when asking to cancel Gnome. 😆

@derek Doesn't storing your password store onto Nextcloud equates to having it on LastPass or Bitwarden? 🤔

@distrotube Seems like they fixed it now. Wonder what they will come up with next. 😆 But yeah, this seems awkward for a company to be able to put together a whole "OS" while having no clue about basic security at all... 🤔

@DeveloperMemes I don't think C is replaceable for the same reason we still to this day develop and maintain Cobol applications: legacy systems that just work and are still going to be used for the foreseeable future. That being said, it's not reason not to try improving the paradigm. And what I can say is that today I don't even think about writing new software in C, I just do it straight in #rust 🦀.But Carbon is in my TOLEARN list, though. 😉

@distrotube Smart move using Ubuntu as example as it is probably what will resonate the most amongst "Linux informed but not users" people. 👍About the volume encryption argument though, I think from the moment you entered your passphrase, the OS boots and has unencrypted access to your hard drive anyways. It's not asking you for the key for every I/O operation it makes afterwards when it's running. And that cheeky pun at the end of the video. I know what you did there. 🤣👌
