Me: few days off to relax in the garden, play with the kid and reenergise. Toilet: not so fast, my flush just broke. Me: ok, that then relax. Won’t take long. Car: Well my break light is out. Me: Ok, well that’s more frustrating but still ok. Car: I am also leaking coolant. Me: *sighs and looks at sky*

@cancel @neauoire @ice this is actually fairly good advice and is exactly what I did. Learning pascal first gave me a good footing for C concept and eases you into tricker bits of C. Although I have nearly totally forgotten pascal now as it was about 20 years ago and I haven’t used it since.

Broadly speaking people are in one of two camps. 1) forest people. 2) beach people. You can quite easily love both, but you only ever really want to live at one.

@robert I am kind of grouping mountains and forests together into one. If you have mountains you tend to have a smattering of trees which isn’t a forest but I feel kind of counts.

@robert we just don’t get mountains in this part of the world though. We are about as flat as you can get. When I took my wife to the peaks for the first time it blew her mind a bit because she had never actually seen mountains in person. We barely have a hill.

@robert you have the everglades we have the fens. Pretty much the same except theres less deadly animals in the water in the fens. Probably the land and sky too. Unless water voles are particularly deadly, then the fens is lethal.

I see the trend and like it. Replaced about with now page. Feels much more useful than some weird introduction thing.

I don’t know a lot about wasm but...If the elevator pitch is “compile native C to a wrapper that you can execute with JS in a browser” then you should just stop at “C” and discard everything said after it.

@sir when I said this at work people dismissed it as the ramblings of someone being too paranoid. The writing is on the wall, and has been for ages.

@sir @xerz if creating the best experience for all users is just recreating all the terrible things that made them want to move then what is the point?
