       Ignore/misunderstand/play dumb about #GDPR all you want at your own peril.Just because US regulators are extremely slow at understanding and addressing consumer privacy doesn't mean that the EU is. This whole issue stems from the fact that #PrivacyShield wasn't good enough to cover GDPR requirements, and as that was ruled inadequate by the EU, companies like META essentially chose to put their heads in the sand instead of changing their processes and procedures to meet GDPR, and it finally hurt them.        @Polychrome @xerz Not sure they've learned anything: the US fined them $5B over the whole Cambridge Analytics thing and that didn't seem to change behaviors.

       Hey #Fediverse,I'm a US based consumer who still believes in buying physical media #DVD, #BluRay, etc. I'm trying to not reward a couple of huge companies with my purchasing business (one of which is named after a big river and used to just sell books in the "before times").Any good recommendations for on-line (or even brick and mortar in the #Chicago suburbs) alternatives for selection, variety, and price?
