@dragnucs @lednabwm I interpreted the original meme as positing:1) one does not need religion to be moral.2) morality is based on empathy. I agree with and am trying to argue these 2 statements.

@dragnucs @lednabwm morality by definition is the determination of right or wrong. as with respect to oneself and behavior that only affects oneself... do you think one cannot have empathy for oneself? I would argue that not only can one have empathy for oneself but it is no different from the empathy we have for others. at least, once reaches a level of enlightenment to recognize we are all one/parts of one.

@dragnucs I've been working out at home since 2018. granted, I'm fortunate enough to have space in my parents' basement for some basic equipment (an adjustable bench, dumbbells). I feel like someone who is sufficiently self critical can reference plenty of information online to guide them, and at home I can workout to whatever soundtrack I want and not share equipment with anyone 🤣

@dragnucs absolutely. and to be honest, maybe I should start looking for a trainer. I lost a lot of muscle I gained when I stopped working out for a shoulder impingement, and for whatever reason I can't get it back.then again, that "maybe" depends on me working less and somehow making more money. probably not happening 🙄

Powell has explicitly said, in a Senate hearing nonetheless, that they want to raise unemployment. at this point, even mainstream economists agree that the primary cause of inflation is corporate price gouging (taking full advantage of "pricing elasticity" in corporate-talk). the economy is fucked for normal Americans by every metric. macro economic data doesn't mean shit when 40% of us don't own a single stock.

@etherdiver @HeavenlyPossum @JamesGleick exactly. they're only concerned with fixing the 5% of inflation that's due to slightly higher wages the working class is now receiving (slightly higher in dollar amount, but actually a wage decrease in purchasing power).
