@seldo well, Europeans declared it quite a few times already, that independent Scotland would we welcome to join the EU, and would get fast tracked.

@simon interesting that A100 had 80GB VRAM, but only 19.5 TFLOPS. Is that something that is characteristic of this usage, that it's much more memory heavy vs compute heavy? For comparison enthusiast graphics card such as RTX 4080 has 16GB VRAM, 64 TFLOPS.

@simon "expect people to spend more time reading something than you spent writing it" is basically almost all of Twitter ;-)

@simon sounds very much like rbenv. Truth be told, I'm using tools like this less and less ever since I have a Dockerfile in every project.

@simon it's fascinating how little regard Russia has for artifacts like this. For example their one of a kind, unique prototypes Su-47, MiG-1.44, and Buran space shuttle can be found not in a museum, but falling apart in abandoned part of an airport in the middle of nowhere. https://goo.gl/maps/L6KAAWeFynn1bPQC9

@simon FWIW, P-270 were also pretty insane, Soviet ramjet technology was way ahead of their time. If you can trust their specifications, which as recent events show, it's a huge _if_.

If you're wondering which side will Russian military back, just keep in mind that MoD Shoigu has a rank of General of the Army despite having never served a single day in any branch of the military. He came to power though Ministry of Emergency Situations after he helped Putin with the false flag of 1999 Moscow apartment bombings, which killed 300 civilians, but put Putin in power for the next 25 years. This is going to be an interesting weekend.

@wolnelewo ich „krul” bardzo pozytywnie wypowiada się o działaniach Komunistycznej Partii Chin, więc wiadomo o jaką „wolność” im chodzi.

@simon IMO there should be two separate things:- technical release note document with technical details of changes;- a release blog post taking a deep dive into some new features or such. There's quite a few companies doing that.

@simon I like an option to quickly browse through a list of changes, especially when debugging some issues and trying to figure which version introduced it. If I had to read a blog post for each release, that would be a bit annoying. I guess what I'm referring to is more of a changelog, but I've been including a copy of the corresponding part of the changelog in the release notes, expanding info as necessary.

@arigesher @simon __repr__() won't cut it up into multiple reasonably sized lines, it'll just output it as one very long byte-string.

@simon @arigesher I'm curious though what's the use case for this? Why not base64, which can be directly inlined in HTML, Markdown, Jupyter, etc, via `data:image/png,{base64(binary)}` URI.?

@simon @arigesher I guess though the pprint() trick would still make sense for splitting into lines.

@simon @arigesher yeah, that's why I asked about the use case. If you want to serve as binary data or output to a file, raw binary makes more sense. If you want to inline in CSS, HTML, Markdown, etc. then base64 makes more sense as it can be used directly without any additional processing.
