@BrodieOnLinux @Akiko You know how when the word "jailbreak" is used to describe when one or more prisoners escape imprisonment (and carries unspokens assumption that prisoners locked up probably did something to deserve it, so this shouldn't happen; it's treated as a literal crime by authorities)?Well, the term maybe carries the same subtext when un-walled-gardening an Apple device so it acts like a computer instead of a TV shopping channel with Helvetica and without lowbrow associations.

@freemo The 24 hour news cycle, with it's competitive rush-to-be-first incentives, will never connect harmlessly with masses who'll take anything and use it to reinforce whatever they already believe, declaring it as justification to double down on their beliefs.That's not even going into social media's reward mechanisms: "We don't know" won't get 1000 RTs, "This is because of (outgroup)!" can get enough traction to go to war.Combined, it's a golden age for fear-mongering and scapegoating.

@freemo If there's a silver lining, I think parts of what made those two things are eroding leaving unconventional alternatives looking worth investing in.If I'm a pessimist for today but an optimist for the future that's ultimately optimism.

@freemo Sort of a self-own on the part of any customer to simultaneously associate "The Libs" as wanting to control weapons to the point of removing all possible armed resistance against incrementally progressing state tyranny (I presume? it's not easy to own something like this and convince anyone it wasn't bought to provoke) and associate the words "Full Libturd" with the automatic fire control selector label: a parity with the weapons used by any agent of would-be state tyrant.
