@syzygy it's sci-fi nonsense for a thing I'm working on. basically trying to figure out how to explain a setting where everything is understood to be made out of information.basically I just recast everything as explainable by some informational substrate, the world is made up of particles that all have their own independent "history lists" that are made up of a finite number of terms and from that you get reality as experienced.

@vii yeah but you've got the analytical skills and experience to look at raw data from primary sources and figure out what's going on. to us normies who get info from predigested sources, the narrative seems to be that shit's *always* on the edge of completely flying apart so what's going on now doesn't really register as anything exceptional-- at least not by the standard of the past several years.
