In downtown Brooklyn there’s a weird little unnamed enclave hemmed in by three rebarbarive thoroughfares (Tillary St, the BQE and Flatbush Avenue Extension leading to the Manhattan Bridge.)In that neighborhood on Concord St there’s a strange little house that has apparently been unoccupied for years, and for years an odd vehicle that may or may not have inspired the Cybertruck has sat in its front yard.

@futurebird You probably realize this, but you have to keep the lift tickets attached if you want to preserve the jacket’s warmth.

If you aren’t getting enough pretentiousness from tea these days, you might consider going to Japan and trying a coffee omakase.🧐https://wapo.st/4s8wwkN@tea

86 St, Bensonhurst, Brooklyn:Those aren’t chicken feathers on the sidewalk, and those two guys aren’t plucking chickens. Garlic is on offer for 99¢/lb, and they’re getting the most for their money by peeling the bulbs before the cashier can weigh them.#nyc

Today it’s Yee On 2007 “Red Mark”, aged till a couple of years ago in Yee On’s humid HK dungeons presumably.I’m lucky enough to have tasted 1960s Red Mark, and this cake isn’t that. What it is, is heavily fermented, smooth, thick and spicy sweet. In fact, it gets sweeter after a bunch of infusions, which surprises me.I have to say, I’m puzzled as to why they made this an ultra-compressed iron cake that’s very hard to flake even after all these years.@tea

@futurebird How many years can Apple let go by before they grit their teeth and release a new reasonable-sized phone? They can’t ignore so many customers forever.

Here’s a cri de coeur from Don Mei. He says over the last ten years it’s become insanely hard to import and export high quality tea due to increasing restrictions and charges from governments in UK, EU, USA, and (especially!) China. He sounds desperate, and I don’t think he’s faking it.https://youtu.be/cc_nKeAjKNI@tea

> Mei Leaf getting squeezed by various governmentsI don’t know this for a fact, but I suspect that white2tea and Yunnan Sourcing, while getting hammered by Western countries, are in a better position than Mei Leaf. Since w2t and YS are domiciled in China, I suspect they are immune from the worst thing Don complains about: that it’s illegal for him to deal directly with Chinese tea producers.@tea
