@leip4Ier: I assume some kind of k-anonymity process. Locally you hash all your known numbers in the address book and send the first 5/6 chars of the hash. They return all the complete hashes that match the prefix, then you can check the full hashes locally for known numbers.

@leip4Ier: For a transparent version you can play with and see how it works, take a look at the haveibeenpwned passwords api. I had been wondering where else it was used.

@leip4Ier interesting point but I doubt it. The PII *should* be gone, legislators have a hard enough time understanding basic tech let alone the intracacies of ML. As you generally can't interrogate a ML model on how it actually works, I doubt you could prove either way.

I went to a meetup yesterday for one of the organisations I #volunteer with. There were 4 men and about 40-50 women. Eventually all the men formed our own little group.Turns out one of them is very similar to me, suffering with #Aphantasia and no inner monologue, #MemoryIssues. Spent quite a bit of time talking about our experience and management strategies. #AphantasiaAwareness is apparently a thing and there are support groups.(Edit: image credit: https://jamieedlund.tumblr.com/post/703903075928244224 I searched for royalty free, but now not sure it is, so adding credit)
