I'm working on #InfiniTime companion app for Linux phone/desktop. It can connect to #PineTime smart watch, read various data from it, sync time, perform OTA updates, expose media player controls. More features are on the roadmap. https://gitlab.com/azymohliad/watchmate@PINE64 @JF

#WatchMate v0.3.0 is out. This release doesn't add any new major features, but fixes some of the most embarrassing issues from before. See detailed changelog here: https://gitlab.com/azymohliad/watchmate/-/releases/v0.3.0

@JF @fosdem intriguing! 😋 And right when I was testing a just merged basic external resources support in WatchMate companion app. Yet another firmware release to test with, and a great incentive to hopefully release the app before FOSDEM.

@matrix watched it just yesterday from FOSDEM site. It's absolutely epic! Inviting audience to join a public MatrixRTC video call is such an impressive way to demo it! And so many awesome features and improvements are coming! The most anticipated is sliding sync of course, but the P2P stuff.. Wow! I didn't follow it much before and was blown away by automatic relay and the fallback to BLE. It is 2.0 indeed!

Just released #WatchMate v0.4.1 fixing minimum window width issue. The firmware update version selector prevented the window to shrink beyond the version label fit. It was hard to notice until InfiniTime 1.11.0-fosdem-edition came out and became the default selected tag.Now the label in the dropdown is scrollable, and the app should fit well on the PinePhone screen with 2x scaling factor again.https://github.com/azymohliad/watchmate/releases/tag/v0.4.1

Notifications permission issue in WatchMate Flatpak should be less confusing now with a link to more details on a toast pop-up: https://github.com/azymohliad/watchmate/issues/6.This is the only change in a very minor v0.4.2 release.

Turns out #WatchMate didn't support the older #InfiniTime version that the #PineTime is shipped with (v1.6). The fix is out now: https://github.com/azymohliad/watchmate/releases/tag/v0.4.4Now it doesn't stop reading out the data from the watch after it encounters the first error (step count in case of 1.6), so everything else works as expected.
