@Nonilex from what I have been able to discover, this narrative is incorrect, and possibly disinformation. https://infosec.exchange/@avuko/115918762581136372That is not to say intelligence services aren’t re-evaluating their intelligence sharing with the US.The Dutch directors of the military and general intelligence services have publicly said so [Dutch]: https://nos.nl/artikel/2586859-aivd-en-mivd-delen-minder-info-met-vs-en-meer-met-europa-zeggen-directeuren

There is a really simple and non-violent way to rid ourselves of billionaires. You see, a billionaire is not a person.Because “billionaire” does not describe an intrinsic trait of a person. There is wealth, valued at billions of (most often) dollars. And there is a person who controls that wealth. Because we allow it.Take the control away, and the billionaire is gone. ✨Poof!✨ 🪄 Like magic, You are now left with billions to redistribute amongst the people, and one person (or group of persons) you probably should offer some publicly funded treatment for one or more mental disorders.🌈It really is that simple. But yeah: “it is easier to imagine the end of the world than to imagine the end of capitalism.”

@lattera @evacide Do not, for anything, use Telegram. Unless you're working for the Kremlin. In that case, by all means and very pretty please: do.https://infosec.exchange/@avuko/115650537396293273

@Nonilex we’ll never know, because, according to the victims and their lawyers, every name and detail where it could be damning—as far as they can reconstruct— (and ignoring all of the documents missing) has been blacked out.

@david_chisnall nice feature to have in an OS. Not so nice feature to have because of a law.

@Nonilex “… modeled after the Shahed.”The US is hopelessly behind in modern warfare. From what I’ve read, nobody wants or needs their expensive, fragile, supply line dependent stuff (including kill switches).

#meshtastic #LilyGo #TDeck.Wanted to update the firmware from Linux.I managed using chromium and https://flasher.meshtastic.org/, but not until I restarted while holding down the scroll button, and running sudo setfacl -m u:avuko:rw /dev/ttyACM0.Took me a blessed search to figure out this incantation, so this is my documentation.

@Gina There is a glaring non-sequitur here.1) Yes, “[Prabhat] Agarwal said colleagues have also started sending messages via Signal, an encrypted app, rather than email, and many now have messages set to auto-delete, with the “auto-delete timings getting shorter.”“2) Yes, USians are targeting and collecting communication among people in the EU. Both for profit and for power.3) Yes, The US is demanding US companies surrender all communications with EU officials, which is what this news story is about. But 1 protects against 2, not 3.No way would US companies and EU officials collaborate on secure platforms like Signal, limiting the view of the US government. This would suggest the US companies want to secretly collaborate with the EU against the US.All of the US companies are active participants in the fascist regime. They will happily surrender all communications, so the subpoenas are not a signal to them, but to us.PS: using Signal (or Wire ;) always makes sense. For civilians. For civil servants, having official communications on auto-delete is probably an offence. https://www.heise.de/en/news/EU-admits-existence-of-signal-group-chat-of-EU-foreign-ministers-10353877.html

@Gina The problem probably arose because Jordan and co-conspirators have no clue about how any of this works, or what words mean.[skipping over “white (male) privilege is the opposite of meritocracy” rant, aka “most leaders are fools”]So they saw that statement about the use of Signal by EU officials, and apparently assumed secret back channels with US companies.https://infosec.exchange/@avuko/116250188938063243

@Nonilex It’s almost like we’re all locked up in petrosocieties and everything we need to live and thrive is directly connected to fossil fuels. What’s that you say? POSIWID?

@wolf480pl From my translation: "The vendor states that each sticker loaded on the platform undergoes a mandatory validation procedure on its servers before being deployed to client applications. According to this official location, the centralized filtering process prevents the use of corrupt stickers as an attack vector, making it technically impossible to execute malicious code via that method."Just a gentle reminder, by their own admission, that everything you say or send on Telegram goes trough their servers in plain text. This means that anyone with (bought or enforced) access to Telegram servers can read anything you say or send to anyone.

@wolf480pl that is certainly an option. Although, if you already have access to the servers to bypass validation etc., I'm sure there would be easier ways to compromise Telegram endpoints.Or did this presumed RCE include privesc/sandbox escape?

Wondering about something. If you turn off notifications on your iPhone for an app, does that stop the notifications from going to the notification center db on the iPhone?Or does it stop the notifications from being passed on by the notification center? The first makes sense, but I don’t know enough about the inner workings of iPhones. Why do I ask, you ask?https://www.404media.co/fbi-extracts-suspects-deleted-signal-messages-saved-in-iphone-notification-database-2/#Apple #Signal #FBI #fascism #DFIR

@aral @ocean "[...] significantly worse search results would not harm their business operations."https://journalrecord.com/2025/02/20/is-google-making-search-worse-to-sell-more-ads/That should read: "significantly worse search results improve [Google's] business operations".Go and do a regular Google search. What will you find? An AI answer "above the fold".1 That way almost no one will ever leave their advertising space again. All of this decline in quality is intentional and part of a multi-year strategy.PSThe output of any business process is finite. In theory, this will be a mixture of value added and profit created. In practice, for-profits optimize for profit. Everyone can do this math.1 ) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Above_the_fold
