The board is pretty much ready to go, but I ran into an issue - the encoders are about 1 mm too thick to fit through the top plate :blobcatcry: not a big deal, a bit of filing should fix that. I bought the encoder linked from the build guide, maybe I should open an issue about it

in other news, I ended up using KMK instead of QMK. I'm not thrilled about using Python in this context, but I had some issues with QMK. It seems like the experience with KMK is a bit better than QMK for RP2040 boards ATM

filing the encoder cutouts was pretty easy, only took a minute or two of filing the inner edge for it to fit properlyidk anything but if you decide to do this I'll repeat the warning I read: it's best to do this outside wearing safety goggles and a respirator

after a few days I've gotten more used to the layout. normal typing is no problem, but I'm still quite slow at coding, there's lots of key combos I need to get used to for different symbols and vim shortcutsit's painful but I know the fastest way to get used to the layout is to keep using it
