I think that would be the epilogue of "Lone Wolf". Throughout the book, there are references to the Whites being able to move through time. Sabelu asks Yawi why he (Yawi) is so sad about his (Sabelu's) death, when the wolf can just move back and forth in time to a time when he is alive. Yawi answers that because even though he can do that, such time is still finite.Later, in the epilogue, Anagalisgi makes a similar comment, wishing that he could go with Yawi through time in order to visit his nephew. Yawi asks if there is anything Anagalisgi wants him to tell Sabelu. Then he moves through time to rejoin Sabelu. For Yawi, he is rejoining a friend before/after death. For Sabelu, it's just his wolf being a jerk and hogging the bed, not realizing that for Yawi, this is a huge moment of comfort.

I want to get "The Hand Holding the Knife" out in good time. That's my first goal. I don't know that there is anything the Minds community could do to help in that regard. I've already cut way back on the extraneous stuff I do online. I just need time. It's almost done, so I don't feel crunched, just residual frustration that it's already late compared to when I wanted it released. As for helping others, I'm generally more than happy to give anything a quick look, but I don't know that I have time for more than that.

Hm...I think that would have to be the twins Miach and MacEoghan (Micah and Micaiah). Their first book is set to release this coming fall/winter. It's going to be shorter than originally expected, but that's okay. Not every one of my books needs to be an official unit of weight.

Major setbacks owing to moving multiple times and home renovations and everything else. Had hoped to get "The Hand Holding the Knife" out before Thanksgiving, but it's going to be spring now. Which means less time to spit shine "Turning Point" for summer and I still have to work on "Bearer of Bad News" for next winter <_> Ack

"The Hand Holding the Knife" Book 3/F of The Hands of Time. Rifun and Cassius are in the modern day, but as they get closer to launching their plan to take over the Wheel, both Cassius and the Borelians are becoming more erratic and more desperate in their attempts to stay relevant. Cassius fears he is now a product of a bygone era, and the Borelians are infuriated by the incompetence of Cult leadership. Rifun fears the evil spirit within Cassius may do something incredibly destructive and he lays out several plans to eradicate it before things go south. He doesn't know if he can do it alone, but he can only try.

Time. We're still looking for a house, and because we can't afford to live in the area we are currently staying, that means changing jobs, too. Don't know that there is anything anyone here can do to help with that.

I once had a novella about a soldier who had been genetically engineered to withstand radiation from a nuclear strike. The story took place after the war. Natural humans were succumbing to the radiation from the fallout, but the super soldiers and any of their children were fine. The story was basically the soldier reflecting on the things he'd done in the war as well as discovering a certain "fail-safe" that had been built into the super genes to prevent the super soldiers from turning against their natural human "masters."I got about halfway through before deciding I didn't have enough world building to support the story, but I didn't want to do anything about it at the time. I'd like to rewrite it and actually finish it this time. That will probably be after I finish TKC.

Horny teenage boy meets horny teenage girl. Gets her knocked up. Shenanigans ensue. The end.Old timer confronts sleazy new guy #1. Sleazy Guy #1 fires old timer. Old timer confronts sleazy guy #2, ends up causing office shenanigans. The end.Side plots for The Chivalrous Welshman, and they are remarkably straightforward. I think that's why they are interesting despite being simple and straightforward, because the rest of the main plots are so complex. Readers want something simple and predictable.

Probably the overarching plot of The Hands of Time that I'm working on now, especially "The Hand Holding the Knife" because it covers The Chivalrous Welshman 1-8 from the antagonists' POV. I think this is actually how I make it comprehensible; by breaking it into separate series, I can break up the character motivations and the character development arcs so the reader isn't overburdened in a single book/series.Actually, thinking about it like that, I think that it would be the entirety of The Timekeeper Chronicles. A number of overlapping stories broken up by character to form a greater narrative. Readers can follow their favorite character to get to the end and the big hurrah, or all of them and gain a fuller understanding of what's going on.

Most alien physiology. I'll give general descriptors like size, striking features, or any terran animals it may resemble or have characteristics of, but I don't usually bother with detailed descriptions. 1. The reader is not going to remember them, especially if they're one-off mentions. 2. It takes up too much world-building time, especially if they are only one-off mentions. 3. The reader imagining the aliens how they want can help to draw readers in because then it's their own creation. The only aliens that I have set descriptions of are the Borelians, Lixon, Grunjor, Turitians, Korin, Xur, D'Bok, and Kolkath. That out of a few dozen named species and a few thousand implied species. What do the rest look like? I don't know. I don't care. They're big, they're small, they have extra appendages, they have this, don't have that, make of it what you will, it's not important to the task at hand.

I used to write a lot of fantasy. You might argue that my books lean more toward sci-fan than straight sci-fi, but here I'm talking D&D levels of fantasy and ridiculousness. It's actually why I don't like D&D or it's close neighbors; the lack of observance or adherence to established rules really grates on me. I understand that it's more of a feature than a bug, especially in soft magic, but I have too many basic, physical, scientific questions to be able to suspend that disbelief for the amount of time required for enjoyment. I will take Ant Man over Shrink/Enlarge, say it that way.I'm also probably going to step back from sci-fi/sci-fan once The Timekeeper Chronicles is finished. I have another brick that I'm passively building at the moment. While there are sci-fi/fan elements to it (shape-shifters and whatnot), the primary focus is actually a political drama/cozy mystery.

Random thought for the moment:Men, do you want to never have to turn up the thermostat ever again? Teach your lady how to weld! Not only can she make artsy-fartsy stuff for her pinterest, but she'll never complain about being cold when she is mere inches away from concentrated heat capable of melting solid metal!
