@ParadeGrotesque if the project is proprietary software it would make sense to not allow GPL/LGPL, no?

@ParadeGrotesque I believe that if you use a library that has a GPL license you would need to adhere to GPL as well, however I am not an expert on software licensing so I could be wrong https://opensource.stackexchange.com/a/1461

@stux a PDS lives around the relays. BlueSky is a relay. you could spin the entire BlueSky infrastructure by yourself but it doesn't seem worth the hassle

@stux from my understanding it would be a separate network entirely, but didn't went too far on their documentation so may not be entirely true

@stux in my understanding their protocol was designed to give you control of your data (the PDS thing) but still connect to a centralized network (for the users that didn't wanted this and just signed up on their website)it is a solution to ActivityPub main complaint (which server do I sign up? which software I choose? what happens if my instances blows up or gets raided by the feds)if the company BlueSky blows up, in theory, anyone could just download all the software and spin another one up

@mischievoustomato @lizzy my company is flexible to some extent (but I usually use the PTO by the book), however brazil has very cryptic and confusing rules regarding PTOfor instance you cant legally book one day off, your vacation days must be divisible by five (it has 30 days per year, starting with the month you were hired). weekend days also count thru it

@mischievoustomato @lizzy the worst is that the vacation period is an employer decision. in white collar jobs employers usually wont object (but it usually requires a 30 day notice), but in more low wage jobs they sometimes say "lol no"the employer cannot not give you the 30-day vacation period within one year (or it pays a fine to the employer and it is subject to ligitation), but it can choose when

@stux the new trend in Brazil for that is the "dark channels" in youtubethe persons who try to upsell courses on that seem to be practicing themselves but obviously they aren't selling their knowledge out of kindness
