TIL: "Title Insurance" is a thing in the #USA.Because no one keeps centralized records, a title on a house can appear "out of nowhere", and can be very costly. Hence an insurance which covers such claims, and might costs around 1% of the sales prices, or more.For the land of "small government", that's a lot of overhead outsourced to the little man, or woman. @monarchist In Germany, such things go into the "Grundbuch" (Title Register) and that's the only place someone has to lookup such things. No need for insurance, or workarounds.Yes, it's a system managed by "the state" (the city or municipality in this case).

It's 27 years now that #PostgreSQL lost the ability to travel back in time.Release 6.3, which was published on this day in 1998, removed the "Time Travel" feature which allowed to peek into previous versions of a row.Do you want this feature back? And why?

@publicvoit @syncthing Unison is nice so that I can start it when needed. But the dependency on a specific version on both sides made me stop using it a long time ago.

Not impressed with the session functionality in #KDE on #Wayland.Whatever this is, since my laptop was upgraded to #Wayland, the desktop starts empty after every reboot. Earlier it stored all (most) applications, like kate and dolphin. Now this is all gone every time.
