@futurebird Re: crab mouths, yeah: when I saw that name I was thinking ... But guys, for real. The creature has a mouth.

@futurebird I had SOME idea about the variety of crabs ... but not enough of one, clearly!

@futurebird Yeah, that's such a pernicious consequence of AI--that people doubt actual real marvels. ... I do wonder how and when we'll recover from that.

What is an etymological fabulist, you ask. An etymological fabulist is someone who takes an unusual word or phrase, sometimes a place or personal name, and #proceeds to make up an origin for it. For example:"Oh, his family name is Perlmutter? Interesting: that comes from the phrase 'Pearl Mutterer'--the ancient profession of speaking to sand and divining where pearl-containing oysters could be found. Long ago, kings and princes vied for the services of pearl mutterers!"#wss366 #microfiction

@futurebird EXACTLY. This is for the plebs. This is for the masses who, in the minds of those promoting this crap, exist only to serve the rich.

@futurebird Yeah. Your kid can also be diagnosed and treated by a chatbot; mine, however, will have a fleet of real live human medics. And so on.

I love pictures of the Holy Family that recast them in the modern time, or in other times and places. For example, this drawing, by Everett Patterson. (1/2)

@futurebird You probably have friends who've already told you about these resources, but two sites for looking for places to submit are Submission Grinder (which is free though it appreciates anything you can offer it) and Duotrope, which offers a limited search for free but works better if you pay for it.Submission Grinder: https://thegrinder.diabolicalplots.comDuotrope: https://duotrope.com

@futurebird Amazing and beautiful. The way she's able to do the words and the fine designs in white using her hand the way a cake decorator uses different tips to get parallel curls at one point, straight lines at another, just wow! And yeah, when she starts putting down the starburst colors and everyone has to jump back! Loved it; thank you for finding and sharing.

@futurebird Agreed, and in pretty much any case I can think of, a community in which people are enthusiastic about each other grows, because people are attracted by the good vibes. And people who aren't doing the thing are attracted and benevolent, because who doesn't enjoy witnessing a happy, supportive, community?
