I have managed to reimplement the WebP Pixbuf loader in Rust!I just need to figure out how to integrate meson & Cargo somehow to move it to the main repo.https://gitlab.com/aruiz/pixbufloader-webp-rs

This is the most trandescental, ambitious, rich and promising collaboration effort that the GNOME Foundation and the KDE e.V. had ever done.Congrats to everyone involved in pushing this.https://github.com/PlaintextGroup/oss-virtual-incubator/blob/main/proposals/flathub-linux-app-store.md

@Migueldeicaza missed the part where we explain that our modifications are made available first in CentOS Stream (with the exception of CVEs which should be simultaneous)Seriously people, what's with choosing Red Hat as your punching bag and spreading FUD?https://mastodon.social/@Migueldeicaza/110626480082763652

Me and many redhatters are pretty transparent with the fact that we don't like how the transition to CentOS Stream was implemented nor communicated (and that we broke a promise with the recent changes). But trying to twist things into arguing that we don't distribute modifications, not just to RHEL subscribers, but to the entire planet is downright disingenuous.

@jamesh @Migueldeicaza CentOS Stream is a rolling release, but it is where all our downstream patches land first, if we remove a downstream patch is because it either went upstream or it is not needed anymore.By the way, you will not trigger anyone by getting a free RHEL subscription and extracting the .patch file from the srpm and redistribute it, most likely you get a pat on the back if you land it upstream.

As I have been both a Red Hat and a Sun employee during both transitions. I can't state how far from the truth your statement is.Red Hat is still the same legal entity, with a very similar management chain with the exception of Jim W. not being in the picture and Paul taking a step aside as CEO.Oracle announced major scrapping on day 0.

@Migueldeicaza I wouldn't support what you claim we're doing though, engineering teams are mandated to push every change upstream and each new RHEL change is here sooner or later:https://gitlab.com/redhat/centos-stream/rpms

@Migueldeicaza I am afraid that you are moving the goalpost here, I am okay to going back to exact binaries, but you accused Red Hat of violating the GPL, how is making modifications (copyleft or otherwise) publicly available a violation of the GPL or the commons at large?

@Migueldeicaza I've quit Canonical, Sun and Amazon in large part because I am physically incapable of withstanding bullshit towards upstreams and/or because I don't like being treated like a fool or pushed to treat others like cattlegimme some credit here

"But Bitcoin is a great way to monetize excess renewables"No, this was never true. If you make a capital investment in a mining rig, then you want that rig making you money 24hrs, not just when the rest of the grid is not consuming renewables. You become a baseload leech.Bitcoin must die.https://social.platypush.tech/@blacklight/111028903112151981
