@gabek ah. I can imagine. The higher you go, the thinner the air is, and everyone want to live by the beach

@gabek Reminds me of Steven Pressfield’s “The War of Art”.Which in some ways, is just a modern, non fiction version of Pilgrims Progress.

@ryo The Rasberry Pi 4 is 5v @3amps. Which is 15 watts. Plus the monitor, which if you got one of the highly energy efficient hdmi plugins, is 5v 2.1a or 10.2 volts. So under average use youre looking at 25 watts. If shaving your energy usage down to minimals is your thing, look at lights and heat.

@dallin Linux will never substantially improve? Lol. Go run an iso from 10 years ago. Freedom is complex, and doesnt exist to make you comfortable. It exists to give you opportunity. Since homogenization is your thing, you really should just go buy a Mac. Because what youre saying sounds like "everyone must do the same thing! Freedom and diversity makes me uncomfortable! Everything needs to be easy! I want Mac sameness! Give it to meeeee!!!! waaaaaa!!!"

Of course, from this day forward, until there is some sort of public reckoning, Suse Linux will be called Nazi Linux.https://lunduke.substack.com/p/the-time-suse-the-german-linux-company?s=r

Question to long timers. (Or middle timers):In your experience, what Linux or BSD project has the least elitist, and most connectable community? To clarify, I do not mean newbie friendly. I mean connectable. Meaning, they point you in the right direction, or share info with an easy going vibe, and the competitive need to be an expert, or maintain an elitist inner circle is largely absent? Please keep answers positive.

You know...There are only a handful of projects which reach breakthrough momentum. And they are always ALWAYS propelled by the community behind it. What I would like to see in my lifetime, is one of these projects not throw their community under the bus at the point of breakthrough. https://blog.brixit.nl/why-i-left-pine64/

Any recomendations for a simple terminal email reader that only reads from a maildir, and composes to an outgoing folder and nothing else? All fetching and sending is done with other tools.

@nicemicro for just using the terminal for email, i think aerc is the best. with Luke Smiths neomutt setup being a close second.Im trying to go minimal unix, or one modular tool for each action, and have the setup be offline friendly.

@nicemicro He transformed energy, the auto industry, tunnel building, and space travel in ways that were previously considered impossible. So sorry about twitter.

@bagder 100% of web boomers agree...Gemini is useless.Just like they said Linux was in 1995. "It doesnt follow the correct standards. It doesnt cow tow to the approproate bureacratic organizations." Youre totally right. You should ignore it, and GTFO.
