@foone I still have the cables, not sure if the pci scsi interface will still work. Perhaps under the Debian? Please let me know once the prototype becomes available, wish to test the thing :D

@stfn not surprised. Would not be even surprised if it’s legitimate Lenovo piece - they had a weird period where same model hd a variation between square and usb-c power supply connections

@stfn in one office we built/adapted a little fridge/freezer for our emotional support drinks. It was hidden behind faux patch panels on the bottom of partially unused rack. Passed various certified inspections :D

@foone Borland Pascal / C++ BGI driver stack methods also went through Bios. I was digging in that environment of late and found out that a) original support for graphics in BP7 was ending at VESA 16 colour driver (so 1024x768 but 16 colours), andb) some fanatic redid VESA drivers for newer cards, including fixing mouse cursor at higher res, and after a period of selling this package released it free for the people to use.So technically I could write now a DOS program operating in high res modes with 24bit colour.Makes me want to de-dust some skills, really.

@stfn one needs to be careful with OVH, their infrastructure can be randomly banned here and there as they host lots of spammers and other shady characters. I used to maintain server farm on Hetzner - solid service, not without some peculiarities but solid.

@stfn If it fits… I think the question you should ask is “can I do anything working with the ssd in that slot?” ;)

@Suiseiseki @stfn @mikrotik gnu-bootable computer with a dedicated sfp card instead of a small switch? Why not whole server rack instead?

@Suiseiseki @stfn how that fits a use case of a small switch with regards to power consumption and physical dimensions?
