       @louis @plausible I'm worried about #vendorLockin with plausible.No way to get your data out of their saas product (so, basically, proprietary!), and new features now come with premiums.Just implemented self hosted version and had long persuasion job with client(s?) to get them off GA but now having doubts.

       @nextcloud Hoping nextcloud don't integrate it in their next release. I've been pretty dismayed by the whole "AI is fun, everyone's doing, join in!" integrations in nextcloud in recent releases.

       Having great experiences using @nextcloud #nextcloud #nextcloudTalk !I've had video + screenshare calls with 5 of us without any problem. I did have to setup a coturn for one participant, and I'm aware that it's not going to scale efficiently without significant funds, but a lot of my meetings are up to 5/6 people, so that's great.I've had better reliability (inc. screenshare) than with google meet, zoom, signal, or teams.

       @nextcloud yes, it's been good, still using it as my go-to for meetings.Could do with the option for making a notification sound when a chat message comes in as it's sometimes easy to miss.But users have been discovering features quite well: invite to private call, emoji reactions, etc.

       @aral Amen to that!I'm frequently amazed in apparently radical thinking communities how quickly a company that dangles its shiny product 'for free' gets people running in that direction.Of course we're all stuck in the system and our choices are often limited and it's wrong to blame people for that situation. But we have to hope, right?  Hope looks like really trying to make non-corporate ways work. Hope looks like being aware when a bad option is the only option.
