Back in the '90s Jean Baudrillard wrote an influential work, Simulacra and simulation, in which he wrote of "the death of the real" and that simulations of reality are now more real to us than reality.I thought of this with the headline on a piece about trans wrestler Nyla Rose..."For the first time, I was being myself, even though I was playing a character. Before I was playing a character who was playing a character.”https://www.thedailybeast.com/nyla-rose-is-pro-wrestlings-first-trans-superstar

“My position is that trans women are not women. How do I say that without drawing the attention of the police?“And their [the police] answer to me was: ‘We’re not saying you can’t say that, but why would you want to when it upsets people’s feelings?’”This is like some bizarre children's story."But it's important to tell the truth," said the Owl."But you wouldn't want to hurt anyone's feelings, would you?" asked the big policeman.Mr Owl lowered his head. He scratched at the ground and thought about all of the girls and boys whose feelings were hurt by the owl stating facts. "Suppose not," said The Owl sheepishly."Now then," said the policeman placing a big meaty hand on the owl's head and gently ruffling his feathers. "You get along now and we won't say anything more about it. And no more of this science silliness. The boys and girls will be pleased that you call them by their proper names and perhaps they'll play with you again. Will you do that Owl?""Alright."The policeman patted down the Owl's feathers and walked away, giving Owl a little wave as he stepped through the garden gate and climbed onto his bicycle. The Owl closed the door to his little cottage and switched on the Wifi.@LangCleg

Oh please Sandy. She's 16 and autistic. She's not part of some bizarre conspiracy. She's a 16 year old Swedish campaigner speaking in a second language about complex science. She doesn't advocate carbon tax as that's pointless (that's only advocated by those who don't want to change lifestyles)...She's advocating restructuring the economic system so we stop emitting CO2 completely as that's the only way we have any hope of not destroying the planet but our emissions are actually rising. She admirably lives the life she's advocating (vegan, no flying, cars, or use of non-renewables).The attacks on her show there's a real fear among corporates underlying an economic system based on consumption that people will start to see how insane it is to advocate change whilst maintaining that system. She's a dude and we should be supporting her :)@SheChanges @lisa_alba@gab.com

Their feelings are very fragile as they have no sense of self and their identity is a fractured mirror held together by others validating their sense of self worth. And they're whiny little dicks.@DoctorDee @LangCleg

Ok, I guess this one you can say is the influence of porn culture (as well as EL James)...for me the most problematic thing was the word "unwanted" in the survey question. If this is being normalized among young women then many might see it as not "unwanted" so the figure of women "experiencing" it might be much much higher. :/@rose

The piece is all about how normalized this behaviour is so it does naturally follow that many/most young women would not see such behaviour as unwanted...I found the original survey carried out for the BBC:"More than a third (38%) had experienced these acts and said they were unwanted at least some of the time, while just under two-thirds of women had either experienced it and said it was never unwanted (31%), or they had no experience, didn't know or preferred not to say (31%)."So, of 2000 women in the survey only 31% had not experienced slapping, spitting and choking...but 31% didn't see it as unwanted :/https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-50546184@rose

It's weird how you know there's an epidemic of rampant transphobia blah blah but no one seems to be taking any notice of a guy in stilettos...though I'm sure someone later addressed him as sir and left him in pain for days... @Lemondrizzle

"LGBT GROUPS SEND A CLEAR MESSAGE OF SOLIDARITY FOR TRANS RIGHTS.""More than 70 LGBT organisations in Scotland have signed a joint letter to politicians in favour of trans rights. The letter says:“The LGBT community in Scotland, and our allies, have worked together for a better Scotland, changing this country for the better for all its people [sic] and challenging sexual orientation and gender reassignment discrimination. In this journey we have learned that as an LGBT community we are stronger when we are united.”“Recently, we have been concerned by attempts by some to isolate the trans community from the wider LGBT community – this goes against everything we stand for.”"But the Pinksaltire site point out there's dreaded hatephobes out there..."The joint letter comes in a week when London-based ‘LGB Alliance’ launched their Scottish wing at Oran Mor in Glasgow. The group say they have been established to “advance the interests of LGB people”, yet the majority of their public profile so far seems to be focussed [sic] on attacking rights for trans people.South Scotland MSP and self-proclaimed ‘gender critical’ feminist, Joan McAlpine, was pictured at the launch event."But fear not, true democracy is restored:"The LGB Alliance has been widely ridiculed online this week, with users on Twitter calling them out for their unsavoury views."I include Malcolm Clark's "unsavoury" views about sexual predators...https://pinksaltire.com/2020/01/26/lgbt-groups-send-a-clear-message-of-solidarity-for-trans-rights/

"In Peru, 'they teach you to be ashamed,' indigenous trans candidate says.""The first indigenous transgender candidate to run for parliament in Peru says it's time to end the culture of machismo in the South American country."Which kind of makes it trebly hard to criticize Gahela Cari as it would be transphobic, racist and colonialist. To be fair, Yahoo news do treat her exactly as they would any other actual woman:"Small, thin and calm in demeanor, she sported an Andean hat over braided hair during her interview, with bright red lipstick and, tied to her left wrist, the green scarf..."I'm surprised they didn't mention how pretty she is.Anyway, indigenous people of Peru have now discovered trans too...Or no doubt there will be some revisioning of how the Inca culture was really trans-inclusive and there were loads of trans gods and leaders, etc. etc.https://uk.news.yahoo.com/peru-teach-ashamed-indigenous-trans-candidate-says-070456782.html?guccounter=1&guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ29vZ2xlLmNvLnVrLw&guce_referrer_sig=AQAAAKEea96ru8LKOow3lQC7pmceqeGWZhvKjtDg9cYB_yYrP66-ptt22Dtp9TgLgmw1TL8DLn87_e34C1wEaTaynWF6Weg0K5p-4eVdFXl0YEcwJ30T-2sXwitcda6p7pPNsSSd9rtvYQGiJp660hy6-syLNaHqlVECFSYWzxKf-nps

"Taxpayers fund £500,000 study for Britain's health chiefs to improve treatment of 'pregnant men.'"It's in the Daily Mail so I thought, dose yourself up with salt but, no, it appears to be real..."Many trans men – those born female but who now identify as male – do not undergo surgery to remove their female reproductive organs.By retaining their womb and ovaries, some are still able to conceive and carry a child. The £502,251 of taxpayers’ money comes from the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), part of the Government-funded quango UK Research and Innovation (UKRI)."It quotes TransgenderTrend so that's a reliable source...Well, it all seems money well spent on helping women who think they're biologically male experience the miracle of childbirth as a biological female because they still are but we all have to pretend they aren't.https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7929431/Taxpayers-fund-500-000-study-Britains-health-chiefs-improve-treatment-pregnant-men.html

"Trans/Sex: Let trans art be messy, weird, and uncomfortable.""One girl’s ‘messy’ is another’s ‘beautiful.’" Ana Valens."Here are some trans erotica ideas I’ve been kicking around since releasing my first game last year:A lesbian Medusa seduces and fucks an Athenian trans woman warrior who both fears and desires herA gigantic cis woman devours a small, timid, yet masochistically eager trans girlTwo lesbians rip and tear into each other’s bodies, delighting in one another’s bloody flesh until nothing remains."Blink. "These ideas aren’t meant to be edgy, weird, or push boundaries. I don’t want to make people feel uncomfortable or trigger a trauma response. I want to write these because they give me butterflies in my tummy. I love monstrous women with a passion that hasn’t gone away in 25 years and probably won’t in the next 25."Page after page of this stuff...I'm an internet innocent but this IS rape fantasy and weird self hatred wrapped up inside a little trans woman bundle, right?https://www.dailydot.com/irl/trans-sex-messy-trans-art/
