You might think "well, it doesn't matter, the program is Free and works" but no, design is really important.Going through the smallest amount of menus, and workarounds is the best for the users, it allows them to work faster and more efficiently and not make them think "I lose a lot of time clicking around". Free Software is great in code, but not in design. We need to focus more on that, really.

@rudolf that's my point: make as easy as it can be. Obsqr just needs to read a QR and pass it to the appropriate app.But Dia is for designing diagrams (whether E/R, UML or any other) and is somewhat an alternative to the proprietary Microsoft Visio or the Electron-bloated draw.ioPrograms should make life for their users easier, not harder.

Perhaps instead of going towards "Web 3.0" with crypto shit, we should go back to Web 1.0 without all the current crap we have

This is my country's train company (renfe) website. It's quite minimalistic and loads really fast. Oh, right, I forgot... I must RUN javascript to see the website because apparently using HTML and CSS is too hard...

Now it works, it took a while to load as it downloaded 4 MB of data (compressed) just to show this page. I have uBlock Origin still enabled blocking all the crap this website has.Let's see the top bar... "Viajar" (travel, in english) with the CSS3 logo... wonder why... oh yeah, because they are using a font for icons instead of SVGs, and it collides with my default font which includes those already. Let's also enable remote fonts, because why use the installed ones...

I decided to disable uBlock Origin because it was giving some trouble on this "perfectly fine" website, and what do I find loaded onto my browser... You guessed it, adobe tracking, cookie consent shit and more... just to buy a fucking train ticket from Spain's train operator (owned by the State, not private).I didn't consent to cookies yet, but the third-party JavaScript has been downloaded from Adobe's domain, so they know who I am before consenting...

Ok, so I'm a non-spanish person who is planning a trip to Spain next week and need to buy some tickets. I visit this website and takes a ton of time to load. I want to read the cookie policy because I read everything I accept to make sure it doesn't include any abusive clauses...Let's read the cookie polic... oh, it's not in English although I have my computer, browser and website in English...

But this doesn't apply only to certain company in certain country, it's almost everywhere. Cryptic cookie terms and conditions, really slow and bloated JavaScript websites, a lot of fonts loaded for each website you visit... Is this really what we want as a society? Wasting people's time loading "good-looking" websites that don't do what they were created for (displaying information)?

Disabling JavaScript Won’t Save You from Fingerprinting https://fingerprintjs.com/blog/disabling-javascript-wont-stop-fingerprinting/The web is in such a messed up state where headers and CSS can be used for perfectly fingerprinting a user, even with JavaScript disabled.

@jrballesteros05 la web es google:¿Chrome? Google. ¿Firefox (Gecko)? Financiado por Google. ¿Safari (WebKit)?

@jrballesteros05 same, I had problem with libreoffice, but I downgraded to 7.2.2.3 (was 7.2.2.4, latest) and works fine. Let's see when I update again my system if the problem persists.

@jrballesteros05 I use Bitwarden, which can be self-hosted (I use their "cloud" one though), highly recommended if you don't want to have to copy your files to every device you need your passwords in

Any chromium-based browser with no bullshit? Updating ungoogled-chromium manually and having conflict with dependencies is just a huge PITA.Brave has it's cryptocurrency shit, normal Chromium has google crap...

@fsf wait, why is the @ not linking to a fedi account? Are you, the FSF, crossposting from Twitter to Mastodon?
