The level of propagandized one has to be to think that a State officially named "Republic of China", that has "Standard Chinese" as its official language, and composed by 95% Han Chinese is "not China".The issue is not if "it's China" or not, the issue is who lost the Civil War, who they were aligned with, and who profits from supporting one side or the other.

The USA's political and military doctrine has been, for over a century, that they get to control the "Western Hemisphere" (ie, the American Continent, including Latin America). This was justified on two ground, on one hand, that the resources of the continent were for the US to use ("America for the Americans"), and the second one that the influence of European powers was to remain in their side of the Atlantic.

Maduro, and Chavismo, are an episode, but the deep reasons for American interventionism have little to do with anything Hugo Chavez or Maduro did. It has to do with the Monroe Doctrine (and its revisions, including Trump's) and the needs of Imperialism. The USA can't have the international projection it has if their "back yard" is not "secured" first. That's why Latin American political thinkers, including conservative ones, have always signaled the US as a curse.

Chaves, Maduro, Fentanyl, Russia or China are just the immediate reasons, the pretexts, the historical accidents. The US imperial policy, worldwide but in particular against Latin America, has been the same since the late XIX Century and the war with Spain.I, for one, don't sympathize with Maduro, Ortega or whatshisname... The history of coups and American invasions in the continent is too long to list, since the early XX Century the US was bombing Venezuela or sending Marines to Nicaragua, in a non-stop succession of interventions, coups, dictatorships. That include the US support for the genocide of the Mayan people in the Silent Genocide in Guatemala.Americans really should read up on what their Empire stands atop of. It's not about Maduro or Fentanyl or Putin. The US were born with imperial appetite.
