I sharpened all of my kitchen knives over the weekend and let me just say I feel like cleanly slicing through a soft tomato with a freshly sharpened knife is one of those things that has no business being so satisfying . Bring me all your tomatoes and let me slice them.

Roughly a year ago I reached the point in my midlife crisis where I threw out a tote full of old cables that I thought I'd never need again. It was a hard day even though those cables were probably all older than my 2 kids (10 and 8). Tonight, I needed an HDMI cable and couldn't find one. While I know I would never throw out an HDMI cable, in the back of my mind I can't help but wonder...

If you sold 1 BTC exactly 1 year ago, and then used that money to buy BTC today, you would have 4 BTC.

@art I went from "favourite everything because my feed doesn't have enough" to "maybe I can't just follow every hashtag I'm into anymore". Trying to find the happy medium :)

Was #twitter always this reactionary? I was kinda surprised when I checked over there and they're all "the future of the world as we know it relies on whether or not Apple can continue doing business the same way they have for like the last 15 years." I feel like maybe it was always like this, and I couldn't see the forest through the trees when I checked there daily.

@art I’m curious of what the argument is that AI Art is somehow unethical.

@stux another perspective...someone making $100/hr will make $1M in 5 years. It will take them 5000 years to make $1B.

@art between Mythic Quest, Ted Lasso, and The Morning Show, Apple Tv is killing it. Great Nature documentaries too.

Y'all ever have a day where you're actually excited about the way things are going and wonder what kind catastrophe must be right around the corner?

@ParadeGrotesque 92% of the people that have came into contact with it throughout history have died. And 100% of serial killers have drank it. Hitler, Stalin, the guy who canceled firefly...all drank it on a regular basis.

@ParadeGrotesque I know this feeling well, but I'm currently on the other end of the spectrum where "we want to keep our architecture simple by writing the code to do all of these things on our own" -- minus dataiku, we do use that.

@ParadeGrotesque all of that? oh no. Just bastardized versions of the functionality we need cobbled together with AWS offerings. It is amazing what you can do as long as you don't waste time on pesky things like documentation or thorough validation though.

@lowqualityfacts I've played through Mass Effect like 5 times and never knew this bit of lore. Wild.
