I wanted to fix a :blender: bug, but ended up rewriting the code to be much shorter, faster, and work without bugs. Sometimes you have to look at the code, ask "wait what is this even trying to do?", and do it in a saner way, instead of trying to keep on patching upon the existing pile of code. https://projects.blender.org/blender/blender/pulls/148783

Here's part of the code, before vs after. This is for calculating "wipe" screen transition effect. TBH felt like fixing some vibe-coded thing, except the original code was probably written 20+ years ago, way before vibing for code was invented :)

@RYStorm I’ve seen some things people submit as Unity bug reports. Things are worse when people can attach files, as they do for Unity bug reports.

@RYStorm percentage of the "oof that's fcked up" reports is very small! (as opposed to "well this is useless" reports which is majority) But when you have millions of users, *some* amount of really nasty reports will happen :|

@wolfpld @dotstdy why not make it have a C-like syntax, but also kinda for graphics -- like, "C for graphics". Maybe it could be called "Cg", if that's not a too strange name.

Whoa, blast from the past! Someone asked me for clarification/update for my ancient "D3D9 GPU hacks" article https://aras-p.info/texts/D3D9GPUHacks.html (they are still on D3D9, and some new drivers of some GPUs treat these ancient hacks differently?). I thought info like this is properly dead and will never be needed by anyone.

@tomas no I mean on a Mac I use Xcode. On PC, now on Linux, I use CLion. And that is not worse than Xcode.
