The community-building on this instance is so substantive, so palpable and exciting, that its clear my lurker birdsite persona is inappropriate. Let me fix that:Hi I'm Chris (he/him/his). I'm a mid-career switcher, new to infosec. My background is a bit different: pre-infosec I was a cultural anthropologist. My PhD research documented activism by internally displaced persons and victims of political violence in Peru. Love what I've learned for Net+ and Sec+. I hope to bring my social scientist mindset to this new passion and apply some critical thinking with socio-political asides.I fell for Linux, hard -- Raspberry Pis were my portal. I'd like to be an open-source advocate and am hungry to learn more. Non-infosec: I love backpacking and winter camping; I'm a recovering ultralighter and convert to hammocks. I watch too much British TV -- to an American it's so soothing. Happy with any #SciFi, mysteries, but good lit is really satisfying too. I read to the end. Prior to coming over from the birdsite my feed was crammed with infosec folks, so I'm happy to be here. Thanks @hacks4pancakes, @gossithedog, @SwiftOnSecurity -- believe it or not you all are approachable cultural translators to those of us coming from far afield. I hope to be on the infosec job market soon. Looking forward to when our paths cross!#Introduction

@mttaggart I've wondered about the #firefish advantages. Did you find that moving was like changing mastodon servers? Or, more simply, what was moving like?

@mttaggart Just getting around to running the new #bloodhound community edition....am I missing something here? Analysis is nowhere to be found, and I can't mark nodes. Heck, after importing data I get a blank graph, you have to search for specific nodes to show paths. Also, the new docs are little help.Unless I am mistaken this seems to be swapping features for the convenience of containerization at the free teir.

@todb Care to point a noob towards a helpful server? The offsec server is helpful for tools, but the community seems a bit young otherwise and not as defense oriented.

@mttaggart @jerry I am intrigued, but after looking at starship's page, my brain is still blue screen frozen on "its just doing what a prompt already does but ⚡⚡⚡faster?"

@mttaggart @jerry Ah, yeah, and reading through a bit more its got nerd font support, themes, and indicators for git, aws etc. So in that sense overlapping somewhat with the oh my zsh plugin catalog but overall faster I suppose.
