Watching a load of chinese diesel heater vids. People trying to "save money" on town gas by installing these makeshift appliances on an exterior wall of their house. The most complete garbage electrical work and flimsy ducting that would invalidate any insurance policy. All for like 5 kW of heating ❤️

Remember that time the UK government nationalised Northern Rock, they didn't so much buy the shares at discount, but straight up confiscated (that was the language used) them at 0 pounds per share. Meanwhile the most daring thing I've seen suggested about nationalising the failing water boards is buying them at like 1 pence per share. Amazin, well and truly.

We are about 25 years into this millennium. If you scale that to a calendar year, that's about 1 week. The novelty of the new year wears off by a week. I reckon we can officially say the novelty of the new millennium has worn off too.
