       @futurebird even calling these scenarios "protests" is a major misrepresentation. They are people protecting their communities from an armed occupation. They are not answering a call to use their free speech rights, they are answering a call to prevent their neighbors from being kidnapped, or at least bear witness.

       @futurebird this is an important distinction because calling them "protests" feeds into the false narrative that they are a separate class of political agitators and ultimately responsible for the conflict. In reality they are just normal people. They are not there to make a statement, they are there to protect their neighbors, which is exactly what Alex Pretti was doing when he was executed.
