A reminder that not everyone thinks journalists are awesome, and that it’s in journalists’ interest to know the social norms of where they are (whether it’s a courthouse or a social medium.) https://www.cjr.org/analysis/journalists-want-to-recreate-twitter-on-mastodon-mastodon-is-not-into-it.php?a=home-hero&utm_source=cjr-org&utm_content=homehero

@grammargirl Putting in guard rails to avoid libeling thousands of individual humans does seem difficult for those running the #AI machine. But also difficult: Being publicly and falsely accused of criminal behavior by a literally faceless author. I think the lack of human intent behind a horrific accusation would be scant comfort if I were on the receiving end. #libel

@lowqualityfacts Hey. Before I start my rant, I want to apologize to you being the recipient. You’re not the only one here who thinks #journalists should work for free, even if they need to eat and pay rent. So, nothing personal! But still, I get tired of the self-righteous attitude here that suggests #reporters twist facts for #clicks (most don’t give a shit) or that differing viewpoints always come from ulterior motives. Please be less simplistic. It’s not a good look.

@todayilearned Well, not “returned” to Washington, because the capital had never been there yet. The capital before Philadelphia was New York City, where George Washington was first inaugurated.
