@stancarey Double negatives are normal in Shakespeare and Chaucer's English, and in a great many languages, so to say "they're not logical" would be rather blinkered and uninformed. Multiple negation has a logic of reinforcing a meaning by repetition. Language is not arithmetic. Repetition of meaningful elements is a benefit to communication, just as in number agreement (e.g. she goes, they go), or gender agreement in languages that have it (e.g. French la belle epoque, le beau cheval).

From Friday morning at Durlston Country Park, Swanage, the first (and for me so far only) flowering Early Spider Orchid of the year. A special moment for orchidomanes. Having only just opened, you can see how flat the lower lobe is, not puffed out into a globular shape like a spider's body. In a few weeks, there'll be tens of thousands of them along the Purbeck coast and impossible to miss them.#wildflowerhour @ukorchids #Dorset

@lowqualityfacts If it makes sense, and is a statement about cricket, it cannot be true. QED

IT LIVES!My old phone, running Ubuntu Touch, was getting rather oooold, with a sticky power button and built on an end-of-life version of Ubuntu, so I bought a new/old second-hand OnePlus 6T on eBay for £100, and finally managed to flash Ubuntu Touch 20.04 onto it.It wasn't completely without trouble (the installer did NOT run as seamlessly as with my previous phones), but with a bit of study and thinking, got there in the end.@ubports @tuxdevices
