@foss_android Blender, hands down. It's what got me to where I am today and I would never had the money to get one of the proprietary editors when I was growing up.In the same vein:- Atom (RIP)- Inkscape, GIMP, Scribus- Kdenlive- Godotand probably some others that I'm forgetting right now.And obviously Linux itself, but that's not an app. 😊 Sorry if you were looking for Android specific things. 😅

@killyourfm now I feel slightly less bad for impulse buying a Deck last night. 😅I love Linux, but I'm definitely not much of a gamer. Maybe this little thing will change that. 😊

@loftio same here, I've been using it since 2018 or so and couldn't imagine working without it. 😅But just in case Adobe messes it up (and sadly it's not that unlikely), have you heard of @penpot ?

@bastianallgeier @ia I've always been terrified of people stealing my work or ideas until I realised that a) it wasn't good enough to be stolen and b) there's nothing I could do about it.So instead I've clung to this quote I've read somewhere a long time ago: “The idea is just a base value, the product is the idea multiplied by a different factor: the execution.” (Might not be the actual phrasing.)So I focus on the execution with my projects. That's way harder to steal than the idea.

Apparently the German government paid Microsoft 198 million Euro for software licenses in 2023 alone…and all I can think of is the good that such a large sum could do if instead it was donated to the Linux foundation and various other #FOSS projects. 😳
