Sadly I think you might be right. Open-Source doesn't necessarily guarantee that you are outside Big Brothers reach.

PeerTube advertises Extinction Rebellion on their homepage... I have no actual knowledge of the PeerTube codebase but there are warning signs on the projects website. "Open Source" is only good if you trust the people who created it. Do you know the people who created PeerTube? This project could have been compromised by a national security agency, heck creating an account on PeerTube probably automatically adds you to a government watch list! I can't even post comments under the videos on this jank platform.

Tom Bartlett is a staff writer at The Atlantic. "one of the nation’s great experts on the anti-vaccine movement, and is skilled at covering the field’s major players with requisite scrutiny while still maintaining respectful curiosity about why people believe what they believe". Why waste any time on this guy? The Atlantic doesn't look like it's designed to benefit the slave class.
