       I wonder if there’s a market for a single user personal graphical desktop-oriented Linux distro with a well-supported set of defaults that comes with warranty and official support on those funded by a monthly fee where if something doesn’t work it’s literally finally actually someone’s job to fix it. I’d pay for that, potentially at least 20€ a month, or more when I have money to spend.As a bonus this means you can also offer cloud backups and home folder that is tightly integrated and funded.

       Does anyone have numbers on computer power efficiency v. manufacturing energy? Ie when, if at any point, is a computer so old it’s actually a net negative to keep using it rather than upgrading?#RedueReuseRecycle

       Oh god, I’m trying to figure out how the security features of a #Fairphone (with stock OS or #CalyxOS) compare to iOS, ie is there a commercially available lock screen bypass for law enforcement among other things, and people keep being ITS SUPER SECURE BECAUSE IT DOESN’T TRACK YOUR DATA PLUS IT’S FLOSS!!!To me, that’s not even security.I’m more interested in: what can a thief extract from my locked phone? A spear phisher with a 1day? A law enforcement officer?
