       A program that does one thing, that's one screen with 3 buttons.277 MB binary, 7 processes, close to 600 MB of total RAM used.

       @hirnbrot I'd been writing C for a while before I even knew about this `static` https://godbolt.org/z/OcSDNH@grainloom @jelle_dc

       I didn't think Norwegian would be very interesting to learn, given that it's so similar to Swedish, but I've taken a liking to it. The lad and I might end up living there, and I want to be able to speak the language if we do.

       @hirnbrot It is base ten and easy, unlike Danish. :)

       @hirnbrot Nope. Seems exactly like Swedish/English.

       @hirnbrot Yeah. Learning it is almost all vocabulary, for me. And getting used to the rhythm and melody.

       @thor I guess it's like Swedish. There's tons of variation in regional dialects, but it's not something that's taught. @hirnbrot

       @thor Local gotos are fine, IMO. Let's you do single return, and have cleanup/whatever in one place. Weird about the warnings, though; I wonder what Clang says.

       @thor The variants I've tried all seem to get flagged by Clang, but I don't know if I'm doing the same thing. https://godbolt.org/z/8dtNKB

       @thor Interesting. I mostly use Clang, but I wouldn't have expected that from GCC. Clang even tells me under what conditions/which code path the variables would be uninitialised.

       We've already killed off 60% of animal populations since 1970. Meat production has wiped out so many species and their habitats. There's already as many smartphones as there are people.

       @lynnesbian People were also upset to find that Gmail has a list of all of their purchases. Google's terms let them do basically anything, but also explicitly mentions collecting data about purchases. I know most people don't read the terms (and I don't blame them,) but when some tech bro who supposedly cares about privacy writes a blog post about how mad he is, it's a bit amusing.
