Has anyone looked at using #ActivityPub for group communication? #Mastodon doesn’t, afaik, have it as a priority, but an #ActivityPub alternative to Slack seems, to me, to be something that a lot of folk would find useful.

@friendlymike What about a Man-in-The-Middle attack where Charlie intercepts Bobs public key, then sends his own on to Alice? Charlie can then be an invisible point in the discussion, decrypting and the re-emcrypting the data.https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Man-in-the-middle_attack

@friendlymike DH is a start point, but to be MITM save, where the “Man” is your server admin, you’ll need to step-up the security.

An AI (GitHub Copilot) just wrote a whole Kotlin class for me. Was it perfect? No, not for my specific use case. Did it save me from writing boilerplate code? Yes.Was it quicker than my trying to get autocomplete my way through writing it? Yes.Do I think this is the end of software development? No, not by a long way. Most code is written to solve a new problem in a specific code base, and no amount of AI training will generate a perfect solution to a new problem every single time.

#GitHub #Copilot is proving to be a seriously useful coding aide for me.I just wrote a name for a SQL query, and then it created the query without any further hints. The query does what I wanted, and the only thing I had to do was press tab.

It’s interesting to watch the #Unity licensing change cluster-fluff unfold. It feels, to me, like a Birdsite -> Mastodon Elon level, migration opperunity to get folk onto an open source engine like @godotengine Personally I’m interested in exploring #godotengine for Automotive use to support our work at @snappautomotive, because open source solutions give our customers an easy path to verifying the core technologies we use to build #SnappOS

@MishaalRahman WSL is likely to be the biggest bottleneck for you. I have a 9th gen i5 with similar specs which takes 90 mins, and some 2nd hand ex-datacenter circa 2018 machines with 40C (80T), 256GB RAM, and 4TB NVMe drives which can complete builds in 40mins that cost ~1500 USD.

If there was ever a time for folk to stop using / delete their Twitter / X accounts it's now.Continuing to use Twitter / X is basically saying that you're fine using a service that a billionaire will threaten to shut down if something he doesn't like happens (in this case, the outcome of a democratic election).We'll never know if he actually would have done it (this time), but the fact he thinks it's OK to threaten a shutdown should be enough for you to want to find an alternative.
