I've been meditating just about every day for the last six months and it really has made a difference in how calm and composed I am. I've noticed that whenever minor things go wrong, I don't immediately get upset. I just notice it and think, "oh, that's too bad".It's so strange because it's my natural response now and it takes a second to recognize it in the moment, but eventually (hopefully) I won't even notice it. It'll just be how I am.

The other thing with this is if the product is in a shitty state quality-wise, there are way bigger problems than just dogfooding.Most likely everybody working on it is overloaded with work and don't have energy to spare to use the shitty product.

One last thing: typically, when you're dogfooding a product, the only real power you have is to file bugs.If you find something you don't like, it's not like you just roll your sleeves and decide to go fix it. You file a ticket and cross your fingers that the other team decides to fix it.

If it's a fundamental issue with how the product is designed, good luck getting that changed. So many people are involved, so many meetings had, so many schedules made, that filing a bug saying "Oh, I really don't like how the avatars look." will do fuck all.

@mistfunk Saw this book at a Goodwill recently and remembered how fascinated I was by it as a kid. I probably didn't read it all though as it was a bit above my head.
