@handleI've been on #gab a couple of times. Yeah you rarely find some racist spewing his propaganda there. But this is what happens in a place where no one imposes an ideology on you. Even on real life you'll find the occasional racist who's there to make your day bad. But blaming @fedilab for giving you access is stupid. Don't like the place? Don't go there. It should be your choice to not access gab, it shouldn't be imposed on you by others, that's tyranny

I don't either, so I am going to speak from my experience. I have an extremely important project that I have to get done this year and while I like Linux, I had to admit to myself that Windows was much more stable on my specific hardware than any distro I've ever tried. I've had no problems in those 6 months with Windows

Am I the only one who thinks that "dark mode" everything is stupid? Everywhere I look everybody is praising the "amazing" dark mode. Some colours are very eye tiring on a black backgrounds especially on AMOLED black.

Experience with Kubuntu 19.10 after a couple of months of Windows 10:1. It is goddamn fast at startup and shutdown.2. It is lightweight. Like 350Mb used ram lightweight. But I can't say that in mundane tasks I see any advantage of that over Windows 10 which was using around 4Gb.3. Slightly outdated software in Kubuntu repos vs what I can get for Windows.4. I finally have a package manager. I am sorry apt, dnf, pacman for taking you for granted 😂

@fatboyHi I would like to stop using WhatsApp, but all the chat groups from my University are on WhatsApp and people post things that have real value for me on those groups. Is there any way to still have access to those groups while not using the app? I mean is there another open source client for whatsapp like there is for facebook?

@MatterI fully understand that people just don't like or sometimes really can't change the way they operate, but I also can't stop thinking that all this theming and extra bloating in order to turn a distro into windows 7 will just only introduce more overhead and bugs.Not big things mind you, but it is the little bugs that drive users away. If it just looks like windows 7, but apps behave weird due to theming than users won't really stick around

Does anyone know why #Manjaro wouldn't boot with non-free drivers on an optimus laptop, but if installed with the free drivers and then installing the Nvidia driver manually works? Are the some configs that mhwd does that are not present on the live environment?

A longstanding issue I had with open source keyboards for android is that they have bloated layouts and bad emoji support. Well this is no more: https://github.com/dslul/openboardThis is openboard, which basically has the same layout as gboard, an emoji button (thank god) and is also 100% FOSS. Now I don't have to send my every keypress to Google.

@nitoxLocked bootloader so no lineage for me. My phone came with gboard preinstalled and you you are sending "anonymous" telemetry by default. If you don't want to you have to uncheck the box in the settings. Also you might want to check the description of the permissions that gboard needs on an iPhone as they are very explicit. Tldr you agree that google has access to everything you type and you have ever typed. Sooo yeaah... I don't think I am too paranoid
