Home server has been patched 13.2-RELEASE-p5: it ran smoothly as always. #Bastille jails are patched too. All services are up and running. #FreeBSD #ThePowerToServe #jails #security #patch #bsdcafe

This morning I successfully upgraded my home server to #FreeBSD 14.0-RELEASE. No issue. I am facing a strange issue with my #Bastille jails. I upgraded them from 13.2-RELEASE to 14.0-RELEASE. My jails are up and running but the following command doesn’t work anymore :# bastille console <MyJailName>I checked in host logs but no issue in the log. I changed root’s shell to /bin/sh but this is not the root cause as I thought. Is anyone has faced this strange situation? What can I check to solve this?

@stefano This is strange because gpart should not be used anymore (read on FreeBSD website). I just did a simple copy of the file in the right folder.

I found something strange on my home server upgraded to #FreeBSD 14.0-RELEASE. I got 2 jails built with #Bastille. Both are using VNet. Their network is setup with static #IPv4 and #SLAAC #IPv6. All works fine. I can ping in both ways and using IPv4 & IPv6 other computers on the local network.Jails can ping the host in IPv4 in both ways, but IPv6 ping doesn’t work to the host. If the host try to ping jails, it works and IPv6 ping from jails to host magically works. I tried to disable #PF on jails but it doesn’t changed anything.Did I missed anything new in 14.0 with network stack?Host contains this in /etc/rc.conf:ifconfig_em0="SYNCDHCP"ifconfig_em0_ipv6="inet6 accept_rtadv"ipv6_cpe_wanif="em0"In jails I set this:ifconfig_vnet0="inet 192.168.1.123/24"defaultrouter="192.168.1.1"ifconfig_vnet0_ipv6="inet6 accept_rtadv"ipv6_cpe_wanif="vnet0"

@stefano Ouch 😩 This is the winter weather: humidity, low temperatures, wind. Take some rest and stay warm at home with tea or coffee for the weekend.

I am using a small VM in #Virtualbox that I successfully upgraded to #FeeBSD 14.0-RELEASE.I noticed that #XFCE panel didn’t load at startup but no issue if started manually.I already tried to delete ~/.config/XFCE4 and ~/.cache/sessions and ~/.cache/XFCE4 without any user logged, but no success.I tried a lot of environments like #Mate, #Cinnamon, #KDE Plasma and I found #LXQt and I love it 🥰 Lightweight, stable, fancy, just like XFCE. I will continue my tests but I am very happy with it.

Yesterday I wanted to apply #iOS 17.2.1 on my Wife’s iPhone and I encountered an issue with sync step. iPhone was stuck on “preparing to sync”. ”Reset history” or reboot device didn’t changed anything. To solve this, I activated ”share connection” > ”authorize other users” then disabled it.I started again a new sync, and the issue was gone.#iOS #iPhone #upgrade

For my birthday a few days ago, I bought two #yubikey (one for daily use and one for spare) to protect all my accounts that support this kind of protection. Really nice and easy to use.

I did not receive the email from #Plex about the leak (username, password, email). I change my password, disconnected all my sessions and even changed my email.
