@InvaderXan After I got used to working from home - okay, the first bit of getting used to, it's still taking time - the weirdest parts were first, being around my husband /all the time/. (I love him, I love spending time with him, could he go away sometime?). And second...... grocery stores. Stores. I keep getting freaked out by how different they are. One-way aisles. Whole new social rules. Ack.

@InvaderXan I didn't have a lot of socialization in-person to begin with, but I miss what little I had, and I find that I really miss small talk. A lot. My parents seem to miss seeing me more, and try to see me more, than they would in a normal year, which is stressful in and of itself.

@InvaderXan There were things I Wanted To Do (hike more all summer) and didn't... But the things that I DID do were:Rearrange my home office to be as comfy as possible. (Husband bought me an amazing monitor)Our local hotel was doing a "stay for the day-only as a home-office for $50" and I did that once. Then I dogsitted/housesat for my parents while they were gone (camping) twice to get a couple days of quiet. Well, different noise.

@InvaderXan on the "not sure if it's irrational": My dad and most of my aunts/uncles are 70 are over and somehow A Risk Group. Cancer, Heart attacks, kidney transplant...Mom's Almost perfectly healthy, but she's the outlier.

@InvaderXan I worry about Doing the Wrong Thing, catching Covid, not knowing it, and despite the mask, passing it on to someone who will die from it. I worry about catching it myself and getting knocked over into the invalid part of any one of my chronic conditions.

@InvaderXan Storytime!So my car had just died because the stupid thing had a broken gas gauge. I pulled over the side of the road, just as some guy pulled over because his muffler was dragging. I was NOT looking forward to walking to get gas in heels & a hobble skirt. I offered to wire up his muffler - I had a coathanger in my car for such occasions - and did so, having done so before - and then he drove me to get gas. Double win!
