Anybody knows how to enable SSL on my SDF webpage? The tutorials make it seem so easy, but even following them my website remains inaccessible when it is active

@fribbledom I feel like the reason for that is that such ceremonies provide a feeling of closure.

Well, it seems the whole Brazilian election thing infected my Telegram groups as well. I'd better bury my head in the sand until Monday morning.Mastodon and SDF seem to be my last sane places.

Does anybody know how do I configure SMTP for my SDF e-mail? I'm currently able to fetch mail using offlineimap, but I cannot send using SMTP on Emacs.I tried every tutorial available that there is, and configured my secret with mkvpm, but my authentication just gets refused...

@tomasino That is pretty much what I did, but unfortunately I still get an authentication error when connecting to mx.sdf.org:587.I hear that only some kinds of accounts can use this service, is there a practical way for me to check which "account type" I have?

2018 was of great use to me. Joined SDF, started hosting my JS-free blog on it. Read about 3/4 of GEB, started some sort of academic research on AI... and now I'm finally going on with nand2tetris (and hopefully returning to SICP as soon as I finish GEB). All of that not counting IRL of course.Let's hope 2019 is just as joyful and productive 👌

@_Ashtar_Ventura @SDF I managed to run Mario Bros here using the trick I said before, but it's very slow and there is no keypress recognition, as I said before.Perharps this screenshot will open your appetite

@SDF @opr It seems 9front is not friendly towards that. :/ But running it from the VPS install itself works fine.

If any of you got Plan 9 running on SDF VPS or on any local instance, I recommend having a look at uriel's slides:9fs 9front.org && cp /n/9front.org/extra/uriel.slides.tgz /tmp/They have a lot of quick details on Plan 9's history, plus comparisons with Unix and Linux.
