@stux These drugs related assassinations have been going on for years and years in NL, and especially Amsterdam. It is remarkable that not so long ago that lawyer was shot, and now a journalist. Did you read that a day after the shooting of Peter de Vries some guy threatened people on a terrace in Amsterdam South East with a machine gun ? That was probably totally unrelated but in my opinion it shows that things are getting out of hand.

@stux Well, yes, good that you mentioned that. I forgot that I read that a few years ago a woman was assassinated for the eyes of her children near Amstelveen. This drugs scene is totally messed up. Even now that Mr. Holleeder has been locked away for many years.

@werwolf I think that the choice for ChromeOS,Window10,iOS,MacOS is typical for a change over time. More and more we are living in a sort of fast food society. At the same time climate crisis, corona crisis, toxic pollution and what not will be felt by the poor and not those who do not have to worry about money (like the new space tourists). Meanwhile it is probably a good idea to continue helping out those who are *really* interested in free software.

@vital876 FreeBSD (Nor OpenBSD,NetBSD) is not related to Linux. One difference is the software licenses that are used. I've read that when Microsoft bought Hotmail it was run on FreeBSD and SUN Solaris. And that is where BSD usually can be found, on servers.

@cadadr I find GNU Guix and NixOS very interesting. (And Nix can be run on Android too, there is an F-Droid package). I also like Haiku and RedoxOS but I think it will take some time before a web browser like Firefox or Chromium will be there for those. I'm also curious about the Plan9 alike OS.

@stux Attempt to use youtube-dl for another video gives : ERROR: Unable to download webpage: HTTP Error 500: Internal Server Error So maybe you need to dig into your server logs ?

@stux @joenepraat Nee, ik ook niet, maar het thema "Draaikonten" van Koot en Bie komt wel even op. Radicale veranderingen en parlementaire democratie gaan niet zo heel goed samen denk ik dan maar. Vastgeroeste structuren. Meer verjonging in politiek DH zou wel fijn zijn.
