@internetarchive I've read quite a few hard to find books and am so grateful for this site.

@liztai Just finished reading Heretics of Thran, by Tai Weiland aka Elizabeth Tai. It's a Sci-Fi novella and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The author has a gift for description of characters and environment woven into the action. The story was intriguing and just carried me right along. This was a prequel and there was a bit of the first novel included. I could not pass that one up and am looking forward to the longer read.

@internetarchive Better World Books and PaperbackSwap are two favorites! I was happy to find Better World through the link on InternetArchive.

@APoD What a view, especially when I read the description. I'm especially moved by what all that blue is.

@internetarchive Yes, I've heard the first 2 issues on copyright and it is very well done and interesting as well as informative. My podcatcher has its address awaiting the next invitation.

@internetarchive Fond recollections of using IRC for a weekly Linux chat in the late 90s.

Having fun working out doing writing in a terminal. In Linux and BSD I can shift to a nice big black and white terminal with Ctrl Alt F1 (or other number) Changing back to the Desktop on my system uses F7.Anyway in my earliest Linux experience that terminal was all I had for a few months. (as I recall) And I was wondering how it would be for non-distraction to work in a terminal like that. I can tell you it is quite focused. The world went away as I tried out markdown readers (pretty much landed on roll your own with pandoc and lynx) and midnight commander which I am very rusty on. All I need is really an editor and file browser with occasionally taking a peek at the output. When I'm done, I can go back to the Desktop and look at it in color with images.

@peteorrall @stefano Oh, I had quite forgotten that stuff MS was putting out about Linux back then.

@stefano Is this the version of FreeBSD 15 that was supposed to come out for us normal mortals in December?
